Our Story

ABOUT RENEE
Founder of the Self Recovery Method

The Self Recovery Method was born from experience—both lived and professional. I come from a lineage shaped by burnout, addiction, mental illness, and unhealed trauma. From a young age, I felt deeply, but without the emotional guidance, community, or healthy models to help me make sense of the world.

This absence became the catalyst for a lifelong search to understand what it means to truly heal, to feel good, and to live with inner balance. Over 25 years, I’ve walked that road—falling, learning, rising—and exploring every healing approach I could find, from traditional practices in the Amazon to evidence-based modalities in modern technologies.

Alongside that personal journey, I built a career dedicated to supporting others in their own struggles. I’ve worked as a:

• Crisis intervention provider
• Behavior consultant
• Wellness coach
• Soft tissue therapist
• Breath coach
• Therapeutic life coach

In each role, I supported people navigating trauma, dysregulation, and disconnection—while continuing to do the inner work myself.

What emerged from this dual path—healing myself while helping others—was the Self Recovery Method: a holistic, human-centered approach that weaves together somatic therapy, nervous system regulation, behavioral science, emotional literacy, and embodied coaching. It’s designed to help individuals return to themselves—not by bypassing pain, but by understanding and integrating it.

The method is anchored in four core pillars:

1. Awareness – of the root causes behind our patterns and pain
2. Regulation – through breath, bodywork, and nervous system training
3. Integration – of past experiences to reclaim power and presence
4. Embodiment – of new, aligned ways of being

My mission is to help people move from survival into sovereignty—to remember their humanity in a world that often asks them to forget it. And I do this not just for us, but for our children. So they inherit wisdom instead of wounds.

We don’t need to start over each generation. We need to share what works—and evolve together.

ABOUT YARA

Marketing and Communications Manager

My journey with WiseWoman began many years ago—as a client. From the very first moment, I felt deeply connected to Renée’s approach: holistic, intuitive, and always tailored to what I truly needed. No matter where life took me, I found myself returning to her programs—whether it was a breath workshop, pelvic floor restore, or coaching sessions.

Over the past ten years, I’ve walked through two burnouts, entered the unpredictable terrain of perimenopause, raised two kids (and a dog), and navigated some of life’s bigger storms. I know how it feels to live in survival mode and how hard it can be to get back on your feet again. I believe in the power of small changes. With gentle, consistent habits, we can restore calm, energy, and balance—whatever life throws our way. We can Self Recover.

At WiseWoman Coaching, I bring my background in marketing, communication, and project management to support the brand I believe in. I blend strategy with creativity to translate our mission into clear, engaging content that resonates with people in every phase of life.

Because I am the target audience in many ways, my work is rooted in lived experience, empathy, intuition, and science-based practices. I aim to create communication that not only informs, but also inspires and uplifts.

When I’m not behind the screen, you’ll likely find me breathing deeply on my yoga mat, painting something beautiful, or wandering through nature with my family and our dog.
